The many-headed Hydra is a distant cousin of the dragon. Although probably not more intelligent than a beast, the Hydra has magical abilities. The breath of the Hydra is poisonous and it traditionally uses a forceful splash of hot water as a weapon. As dangerous as this might be, the true danger lies in the Hydra's incredible healing powers. Even severed heads grow back within a few heartbeats and each injury seems only to increase the creature's ravenous hunger. The Hydra seems to flourish in warm climate and usually build its lair close to greater bodies of water. Although the jungles climate seems to benefit their breeding, it is not uncommon to encounter small Hydra colonies in milder climate as well. Other than their dragon cousins, Hydras shun the dry heat. Hydras are not known to hoard treasures on purpose but having been on this earth for quite some time, and only randomly losing a fight, the belongings of their victims have started to fill up their caves.

Paladin hunting guide:
Level 40+: At this level you can go at hydras with blockers and some shooters. If blocker blocks right you won't get damaged. But hydra can retarget at you, or at another of the shooters. Hunt on the big hydra spawn with the team, because you can go down in case of danger.Kill hydra on other spawns if you making quests with the team.Shoot HMMs and bolts at the hydra. It won't be very good to hunt hydras because that mages gets the most exp and there need to be many shooters.
Level 65+: At this level your sd damage is enough to solo hydra. But it's very waste because that hydras heal alot.Use the hydra egg spawn and stay with manashield and sd.You will need to drink some manafluids from time to time.Try to stay at diagonal position so hydra don't hit you with the poisonwaves and waterwaves.Stay until the hydra run away.Run after the hydra and shoot the last sds. Expect around 20-23 sds per hydra and 5-8 manafluids.
Mage hunting guide:
With Blocker:
Take a BP of HMM or two and go to a single spawn of a Hydra and let your blocker block it, stay diagonal from the hydra so you won’t get hit by any of his wave’s. have mana shield on just in case you get hit by one of his wave’s. Since HMM won’t hit that much on a dragon, you’d better go with some more shooters. Also, you could do a great energy beam on the hydra, but only do it when the hydra isn’t looking straight at you, but you are looking straight at him(Cause else it would miss).
Solo hunting:
Summon 2 Demon skeletons and let them block for you, heal de DS with IH runes when 1 of them turns yellow, since the DS is immune for poison it can block the Hydra for some time. You should use Sudden Deaths to kill the hydra fast cause else your DS won’t hold on that long. Even if you heal them.
When it starts with running, run after it and finish him off with a SD rune.
Safety rules:
* ALWAYS but ALWAYS use your magic shield when hunting a Hydra solo.
* ALWAYS have your BP of UH open for quick healing
* Keep your BP of mana fluid open for more mana when you are running out.
* Have your BP of HMM or other rune BP’s open for attacking the Hydra
Attacks:
Healing.
A Hydra shall heal itself when damaged. It heals extremely fast, so you need to use much runes or exori’s to kill it, this can truly be a pain in the neck, that healing of a Hydra.
Paralyze.
A Hydra has the ability to paralyze his opponents by shooting a great poison ball to them, this by this way, the Hydra can paralyze large groups of people, luckily there is the exura spell to cure you from the paralyze, make sure you have this spell under a hotkey.
Close Combat:
Like almost every other monster, Hydra’s attack with close combat to damage their opponents a lot, they can hit up to 250 with there close combat, this is the attack that should be blocked by blockers. The other attacks can we evaded. Accept the great poison ball. But that only paralyzes no, not such a big disaster.
Poison wave.
This is one of the strongest attacks a Hydra has, fortunately it’s easy to avoid, just by standing diagonal from the hydra. But when you get hit by it, you can lose up to 300 hp. So be very careful with this attack.
Water wave:
This attack is only being used by Hydra’s, It’s also an easy attack to avoid, but again, when it hits you, you can lose like 50 to 200 hp. Sometimes hydra’s use this attack in a combo with poison wave, when you get hit by that, you can lose up to 500 hp. That isn’t pretty, so have UH’s at the ready, but probably you won’t be needing them when you are standing diagonal form the Hydra.
Creative with hydra’s.
Hydra’s shall always protect their territory, as you can see in this screenshot, a hydra lured to the stairs is getting threatened by another hydra cause he went in his territory.
