A lot of proposals have been posted lately about summons, and one of them was the ability to controll your summons. This means you can let them attack and block whitout attacking yourself, and also some other things. What do you think about this idea? Does it sounds nice, or would it be stupid? Would it make mages too powerfull?

For me it seems something ridiculous. You have to command your summons to do so and that means you want to be agressive and attack some monster or person. Imagine this situation:
Me: Hi. GM Pimp: Hi <Summons start to attack> GM Pimp: Hey stop it. Me: My summons are attacking by themselves, I can't do anything.
Please, you can't make your summons attack without the intention of being agressive.

That's true, but then you could send your monsters to another monster to kill it for you while you stand safe. It looks a little ridiculous if you ask me. There wouldn't be much mages anymore that hunted.

Druid farms would be back again. More people trying to kill druids for runes. I love hunting with summons because I can make fun at them without getting any answer (hey, I'm bored by that time ) Have a nice day

Summon/convince controlls, would be great. Some functions: Attack with distance(on/off) Block from distance(on/off) Block nearby(on/off) Attacks with meele(on/off) Attacks with magic(on/off) Normal attack(on/off) Summon follow(on/off)
And of course some monsters don't fight with magic or meele or distance. Which functions works would depend on suimmon or convince. That would help pallys hunting necros with ds.And many mages.

Why not the option of choosing place where summon will be created ;D. that will help a lot in some situation.

You could take summon follow off, so it couldn't follow up and down.

I just thought about one.
Sometimes you need to get out a place fast and you don't want to lose your summon(s). Your summon should be able to go up and down ramps, and it should be able to go down holes or stairs (you can rope your summon up) In that way I think hunting might be a little bit funnier.
What do you think?

the only thing i would like summons to do would be for them to walk ahead of us, some kind of option to put them in front or behind us! That would save alot of work to us all!

Great ideas
Heres a weird one... summons should walk the same speed as you if you aren't attacking anything. I don't like taking 5 steps then waiting all the time. ;D
