I propose that the Mage Hunting Guides be edited for many reasons...
1) I believe that the former system be restored, giving each monster a rating for how strong you need to be to Solo the monster, and economically hunt the monster, hunt with blocker, etc. The current ones are generic and it appears as though they address maybe a lvl 20 or less in many cases.
2) Some editing could be done to correct the English mistakes (In many of the guides it says "Always but Always do ______")
3) Some of the guides are quite ridiculous... It makes me strongly doubt that whoever wrote them has actually hunted the monster in that manor (Soloing Hydra with 2 DS, and SDs, or hunting sibangs without a summoned monster or blocker, or even using UH runes to heal yourself while running a GS as a mage)
4) Hefty exaggerations and incorrect information are found in many of them: Sibangs do not drop protection amulets or plate armors, nor will they attack 4 times per turn... The main exaggeration here, is the importance of mana shield. Almost all of the guides say "Always use mana shield here," when it would be a quite complete waste to do so. Mana shield, while hunting beholders, with a BLOCKER?
5) The usage of exori vis was not mentioned once throughout the guides I have checked... It is quite a valuable spell while hunting and deserves to be mentioned.
Those are the only things I can think of for the moment, ~Fox

No comments since I'm not good at writing mage guides. Talk with Elpancho or Fox. I just made few mage guides. Don't complain at me at least. ;D

It's quite hard for me to edit since I have no experience at all with mages. I'll have a look at it, but I find them good. If you can post a better guide for a monster, then you can do that . I believe we should not restore the old system, else we get people here saying we thief their info . I prefer a level sytem, like the paladin guides.

Well, of course the old system exactly is unnecessary, but at least some sort of level ratings, like there are for paladin, knight.
I'm reasonably experienced as a mage (Played one for around 3 years now...) and many of the suggested hunting methods would be extremely ineffective.
Having your BP of UH open is often stressed, and if you are actually an experienced mage, you will know that mages don't typically heal with UHs, but with instant spells (exura vita, exura sio, exura gran, etc.) This is also suggested for a few of the monsters that you will be running from. If the player is inexperienced enough to need to read this guide for help, their skill will most likely not be high enough to UH while running.
On the Hydra Guide, to hunt hydras solo it says summon 2 DS and use SDs... I Don't understand why anyone would do this. You would have to UH the DS so often, you wouldn't be SDing enough, and the hydra would constantly heal. If you were lucky enough to kill it this way, it would cost you a ridiculous amount.
The way to solo them: If you are the proper level for soloing them (100~ Mage) then you place fire fields, and exori vis. If you are a mid level mage looking to solo one, just running the hydra and SDing it would be much more effective than a DS blocker.

I think the other fox is right. Hunting scarabs or beholders with bp of uh is maybe unecesarry. Maybe bp of IH instead.

Fox, rewrite hydra guide please . I'll review the other guides later and let you write new guides if needed and if you want.
